Registration

If you would like to register your child for the Pre-Teen Art Therapy Group please complete the following form. A facilitator will reach out to finalize your registration. Need more information please scroll down.

What to Expect

Expect hands-on fun, supportive facilitators, learning Dialectic Behavioral Therapy skills, and creative art therapy activities. This is a space where participants can learn, create, process, express, and grow. No prior artistic experience needed all skill levels welcome!

  • Parking is free. We have a parking lot in the front and a large parking garage.

  • After parking when you walk to the front of the building you will see North Seattle Pediatric Dentistry to the right. When you enter the building walk past North Seattle Pediatric Dentistry to the back of the building. On the left you will find an elevator. Ride the elevator to the second floor (Regus). Exit the elevator and be greeted by our receptionist. The group will be held in the conference room past the receptionist to the right.

  • Art Therapy is an alternative way to give voice to that which is not easily expressed with words. Art Therapy uses art process to work through and deal with problems many people face to help them develop their potential to live healthy and satisfying lives. Art making can be calming and therapeutic in nature, as well as be an outlet for self-expression

  • The beautiful thing about art therapy is participants can be any age and be at any skill level. Your child does do not need any experience in art making to participate. Art Therapy focuses on the process of creating and expressing yourself rather than the finished product.

  • At the end of each group your child will bring home their artwork. We do not have the ability to store participants artwork between sessions.

  • Private pay individual therapy can range from 150-200 dollars per session. Group therapy is often reduced to 30-100 dollars per session. Group therapy allows participants to enhance social skills, practice coping skills together, relate to one another, experience support and validation, and improve confidence or self worth. Group therapy is effective for depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and emotional dysregulation.

  • Madeleine Melamed is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Art Therapist Provisional. She specializes in Art Therapy and adoption competent therapy. She has four and a half years experience working with children and families. Explore the rest of this website to learn more about her.

    Harveer Yeates is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and private practice owner of Seahorse Therapy. Harveer specializes in working with toddlers, children, pre-teens, teens, and young adults. To learn more about Harveer follow the link to their website.

  • The group will be 6 participants and 2 facilitators.

  • No. This group is open. Meaning you can choose dates that work for your schedule. Whether that’s 1 session, 3 sessions in a row, or 4 sessions sporadically. We will close the date once all 6 seats are filled.

  • At this time, we are only taking pre-teen participants. In the future we may potentially have a cohort for teens. Please reach out if you would like to be notified when this launches or follow us on social media.

  • The group costs $55 dollars per participant per session. Families can decide how many sessions would work with their schedules. For all 8 sessions $440 dollars. We are not accepting insurance at this time. This will be an out-of-pocket expense. We can provide superbills to potentially utilize out of network benefits. We cannot guarantee insurance will reimburse you.

  • We accept credit/debit cards or HSA cards. Credit card payments are processed through Simple Practice HIPPA secure platform. Once registered you will gain access to my client portal where you will upload your card to my secure platform.
