Create art in a supportive online environment to process adoption trauma. This is a space where participants can learn, create, process, express, and grow. No prior artistic experience needed all skill levels welcome!

  • Art Therapy is an alternative way to give voice to that which is not easily expressed with words. Art Therapy uses art process to work through and deal with problems many people face to help them develop their potential to live healthy and satisfying lives. Art making can be calming and therapeutic in nature, as well as be an outlet for self-expression

  • The beautiful thing about art therapy is participants can be any age and be at any skill level. You do not need any experience in art making to participate. Art Therapy focuses on the process of creating and expressing yourself rather than the finished product.

  • Madeleine Melamed is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Art Therapist Provisional. She specializes in Art Therapy and adoption competent therapy. Explore the rest of this website to learn more about her.

  • The group will be 6 participants and 1 facilitator.

  • The group costs $40 dollars per participant per session.

  • We accept credit/debit cards or HSA cards. Credit card payments are processed through Simple Practice HIPPA secure platform. Once registered you will gain access to my client portal where you will upload your card to my secure platform.

  • Yes. I do not want price to deter adoptees from joining. Sliding scale is when you feel you do not have the financial means to pay the full price of the group. Instead we agree on a rate between $10-40 that financially works for us both. There will be limited sliding scale seats available. First come first serve basis. Once the sliding scale seat is filled it will not open up again until the next group cohort. If you would like to discuss and reserve the sliding scale seat please reach out via email mmelamed@dovetaletherapy.com.
